New CD From Bobby Kapp with Gabriel Hernandez & His Orchestra

Bobby Kapp has just released "Cilla Sin Embargo" recorded at the end of 2014 in Havana, Cuba with pianist Gabriel Hernandez & His Orchestra.  You may remember the post here not long ago on this blog about the recording made in October 2014 Themes 4 Transmutation where we also touched on the determination Bobby had to make 2 recordings before 2014 came to a close.  Two months after that first recording, "Themes 4 Transmutation" was completed in New York City, Bobby traveled to Havana, Cuba where he went into the studio to realize the 2nd part of the dream, "Cilla Sin Embargo".  There are rhythms in this music that will challenge you not to get up and move.  The ensemble of master musicians assembled in Cuba easily move from the powerful to the tender.  Tracks on the album include pieces composed by Bobby and Gabriel, individually and together, as well as a handful of standards like Duke Ellington's "In A Sentimental Mood", the Burke/VanHuesen evergreen "It Could Happen To You", and Bobby's medley interpretation of "I Fall In Love Too Easily / Soul Eyes".  If you love Latin-Jazz, the exciting rhythms of Havana "Cilla Sin Embargo" should be something you add to your personal music library.
