Don’thinklisten

Is about storytelling.

About listening and not analyzing.

Three people, musicians, not in isolated booths but close to each other in the same room, miked, recorded, mixed and mastered by a greatly skilled sound engineer.

I looked for a vision and it appeared. It was an ensemble of violin, bass and drum set.

Reached out to violin Maestro, Emanuele Parrini, whom I had never met ,who reached out to the virtuoso Bass player, Silvia Bolognesi, who is partners with superb sound artist, Griffin Rodriguez, who operates out of a studio down a one-way country lane ,in the middle of farm lands, half an hour more or less outside of the Italian City of Siena, guarded by the wonderful canine, Baffo, five hours by train from Napoli where my partner and I were based.

Selected guests were invited to also be in the same room to listen.

The recording signal was given by a hand gesture from Griffin and we, having never met or played together before, began.

Thus “Don’thinklisten” was created, just like that!
