THERE IS A SPECIAL SATURDAY EVENING EDITION OF JAZZ FROM GALLERY 41 THAT AIRS WEEKLY FROM 10 PM TO 2 AM (PT) ON KCSM-FM91 THE BAY AREA'S JAZZ STATION.  A NEW SEGMENT ON THE PROGRAM NOW HAS A NAME... "THE JAZZ FROM GALLERY 41 JAZZIZZAZZIZZ ACTUALITY BYTEZZ" WHERE I GIVE YOU A PEEK INTO MY PERSONAL ARCHIVE OF CONVERSATIONS THAT I'VE RECORDED OVER THE PAST 4 PLUS DECADES WITH MANY OF THE GREAT MASTERS OF THE MUSIC.

ON TONIGHT'S PROGRAM THE SEGMENT FOCUSES ON TABLA MASTER ZAKIR HUSSAIN WITH COMMENTS TAKEN FROM A CONVERSATION HE AND I HAD 31 YEARS AGO.  THERE IS ALOT SHARED FROM ZAKIR IN THIS SHORT CLIP, FROM THE WINTER LONG MUSIC FESTIVALS IN INDIA TO HOW HIS FATHER TABLA MASTER USTAD ALLA RAKHA INTRODUCED HIM TO MUSIC WHILE HE WAS TAKING HIS FIRST BREATHS.
