Brooklyn Jazz Underground has added 2 new cds to their impressive catalog:
Guitarist Isaac Darche (rhymes with Marsh) has a new trio recording called "BOOM-BAP!TISM". He's joined by Sean Wayland - Hammond B3 Organ and Mark Ferber - drums.
Pianist Jeremy Siskind is joined by vocalist Nancy Harms and Lucas Pino on woodwinds on a genuinely unique and very creative cd released under the title "Finger-Songwriter.
Also, keeping up their record of hitting one musical home run after another Origin Records based up in Seattle, WA. has added these 3 releases to their catalog and they are scheduled to be available in mid-May:
Guitarist Bobby Broom is heard with bassist Dennis Carroll as well as Kobie Watkins and Makaya McCraven sharing the drum duties on Bobby's "Upper West Side Story".
Collectively known under the name Human Spirit trumpeter Thomas Marriott, alto player Mark Taylor, and drummer Matt Jorgensen join forces with Orrin Evans on piano and Essiet Essiet on bass on the new release "Dialogue" recorded live at Tula's Jazz Clueb during the October 2011 Earshot Jazz Festival.
Drummer Rich Thompson and his trio are heard on "Generations", bassist Miles Brown and pianist Chris Ziemba are joined on just one track by tenor saxophonist Doug Stone. It's a terrific collection featuring pieces by Ornette Coleman, Barry Harris, John Scofield, Jimmy VanHeusen as well as tunes by Rich Thompson and Miles Brown.
