Jazz Education / Jazz Audiences

This is an interesting article posted on the NPR site "A Blog Supreme / NPR Jazz".

There are indeed many younger players creating marvelous genuinely creative music that utilizes contemporary rhythms, harmonies, concepts...this helps keep the music in the ears of the younger members of the listeners and helps the music evolve and prevents stagnation of the art form.  Of course, putting a stop to removal of music in the educational system at every level would be a good thing, more seats filled at the various venues where the artists perform also a good thing...get out and support the artists by hearing live Jazz whenever you can, that too is always a good thing!!!!!  Here's is the link to the article: http://www.npr.org/blogs/ablogsupreme/2012/05/14/151962816/if-not-jazz-education-what-will-rebuild-jazz-audiences
