Alex Cline Flower Garland Orchestra "Oceans Of Vows" on Jazz from Gallery 41

Join me on Sunday the 21st of January at noon pacific to share with me a conversation with drummer, percussionist and composer Alex Cline and we will also listen to in its entirety his majestic composition "Oceans Of Vows". Alex Cline released the epic recording "Oceans of Vows" on the Cryptogramophone Record label in early 2017 and in March shortly following that release Alex and I recorded a conversation that focused on many of the elements of creating this magnificent piece of music which was largely inspired by the poetry of his Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh as well as excerpts from the Buddhist text known as the Avatamsaka Sutra. Included along with Alex in the 14 piece Flower Garland Orchestra which is conducted by Vicki Ray are his brother Nels ClineYuka C HondaJeff Gauthier, Wayne Peet, Scott Walton, Will Salmon, Brad Dutz, Chi Li, Miguel Atwood-FergusonMaggie ParkinsAreni Agbabian, and G.E. Stinson, I first met Alex in 1977, so we do indeed cover a lot of ground during our conversation and of course you will also hear the entire "Oceans Of Vows" suite during program. Do please join me for this special program on Sunday January 21st at noon pacific here on Jazz from Gallery 41 Our stream is available around the world 24/7 using the Live365 Radio and TuneIn Radio apps for your desktops and your Apple and Android devices, and we're also on iTunes Radio, Streema, and Roku TV.
